Preciosa Art features the work of Canadian artist, Larisa M.

There is a beautiful sensuality to Larisa’s luscious portrait and figurative paintings. Her subjects are often presented with a sense of connectedness between themselves and the viewer, which adds an element of intrigue to her work. This has become the defining feature of her distinctive style. Her evocative brush strokes and confident use of colours breathes elegance, charm and mystique to her work.

Larisa works mainly in acrylic and watercolour but enjoys the freedom and richness that comes with the fusion of mixed media.

Artist’s Statement:

Preciosa Art is the culmination of my long-time passions, drawing and painting. From doodling in class as a child, to life drawing as a teenager, to painting every chance I got while raising a family and immersed in my career, art has always been my pause button. My colourful happy place, if you will.

I see art as the weaving of body and mind – a tangible display of our inner workings. Everything stands still when I’m working in my studio, sketching a new piece, dabbing paint on a fresh canvas, creating life on an otherwise blank sheet. It’s quite a thrill and it draws me back daily.
